Gender parity is a recurring topic in the consulting profession, as it is in many others. According to Consulting Magazine, women comprise roughly 25 percent of the consulting workforce – significantly less than the 47 percent female representation in the overall U.S. labor force. Why the disparity? Is is that the demands of consulting —travel and long hours ― don’t align with perceived feminine goals such as starting a family?
