Australia’s dropped 30 places on the OECD rankings on gender equality in the past few years, a fact that one of our most internationally renowned experts on the subject, Dr Jeni Klugman, is quick to point out when asked just how we’re faring.

“We are in the bottom third of OECD countries,” she says. “It’s a paradox to see that we’re doing so well on educational and tertiary achievement, when that’s not being reflected elsewhere.”
